Say what you want, but big Z is what makes this team hard to play against.
No big Z? No playoff hope's.
The boys were severely outplayed for about 50 minutes last night.

While losing Chara is huge, this is an issue that has been looming over the Bruins for a couple years and this forces the conversation earlier than expected. Curious to see what Sweeney's plans are for future state of the blueline.

All I know is that if they keep getting Krug and Gryz on the Ice at the same time we have no idea how UGLY things can get.
People love to crap on Z because of his age (or they're just that stupid) but he is still their #1 guy right now. well I guess he was.
Tough Tough Spot, hopefully Miller is back sooner than later and Z isn't out more than a few weeks.

they are going to have to score 4 to 5 goals a game to get a win.

At his age now, this is the kind of injury that could really....I won't say end but could significantly accelerate the end of a pretty impressive career.

Martin Marincin is your answer, and all it would take is future considerations.

Both teams would benefit from this deal. The Bruins would get a d-man already playing in the NHL that would cost little on the cap, while the Leafs would get the good fortune of playing against Marincin going forward, thus assuring themselves of at least two 2-on-1's and 2 power-plays a game for each tilt vs. Boston going forward.

I should have mentioned, the "future considerations" would be an agreement by the Bruins to play Marincin 20+ minutes a night for every game vs. the Leafs this season, including playoffs.

Having read the relative benefits for each team, I have to admit....Leafs really win this deal. We'll throw in a 7th round pick and a signed Nazem Kadri jersey as well.

Big Z going down for an extended time would be crippling for this team. For whatever reason he is still our most valuable dman. Well I know why, he is a Bruins legend!! It really makes me wonder about this teams makeup going forward. Hopefully McCavoy gets healthy and continues to develop and takes over the d core.

The club appears to be going backwards this year and that’s unfortunate. I don’t know how many more years Bergeron can play at this level. Sweeney has done nothing to improve this club.

I understand New England fans expect a win every night but i wouldnt exactly say the Bruins are going backwards.. They are right where they were last year with two of the best teams in the league right there with them. This is the NHL. They aren't going to win every night.

Best line in hockey but the kids need to work on being more consistent. Doesn't help that we are down 4-5 Dmen.

I believe they went backwards by not addressing any team needs in the offseason after getting dismantled by TB. They have needed a top 4 dman for several years and I don’t think Moore solves the issue. Sweeney has sat on his thumbs while other teams have gotten better. Who knows maybe not his fault, maybe the trades just have not been there..

I love the top line and enjoy watching them dominate at times, but when push comes to shove against the elite teams the team as a whole is not there. Sorry to be a pessimist this year but you see the flaws against the top teams.

The team also hasn’t been completely healthy, so we’ll see.

I think the success of the team last year really skewed a lot of fans visions about the team. They weren’t supposed to be so good. I would agree that the team seems to have taken a step back this year, but that’s because they are leaning on guys like Heinen and Bjork to be impact players (without help). That doesn’t happen overnight. The plan all along was to build from within and what we’re witnessing right now is growing pains (and lots of injuries lol) The addition of JFK to the lineup seems to have sparked the third line which is HUGE. I don’t think finishing high in the standings is important. If the kids can help solidify the middle of the lineup, and the team gets healthy, I think anything is possible

Bruins have Patrice Marchand and Krug fighting the goons of Dallas. We respond with our soft 4th line. They do nothing. The Bruins need to defend their best players. So soft. Trade Backes for Lucic and let’s call it a day.

I’m officially on tilt tonight
